This is Labrinth, Simon Cowell's newest discovery. The best way I could describe this song would have to be... AMAZING. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm sick of the rain. So as the song goes, "Let the sun shine".
Shout out to little Devin for diggin up this song. I'm not sure how long it's been out but you've got Webby reppin the 203 and Joell Ortiz reppin Brooklyn so how could you go wrong? Enjoy
p.s. If someone finds a download link, feel free to drop it in the comments box
New video with Rick Ross, Drake and Chrisette Michele..pretty good song even though Ross has done yet another song about cars ha at least Drizzy drops some solid bars
Ok so just as I thought nothing good was going to drop today i come across a new Chiddy Bang track..and of course it's another dope one so crank it up and give it a listen
Slim Thug teams up with B.O.B. on So High; which is off his upcoming album, The Thug Show, which drops October 7th. Make sure you sit back, light up, and give this track a listen. Stay up.
Here is the Yo Gotti Remix of Look in the Mirror with Wale, Wiz, and J Cole. This track goes hard with arguably(and in my opinion) the best new school rappers putting shit out right now. This is a must download.
Okay so obviously this doesn't have anything to do with new-school hip-hop or even music for that matter. A few people have been asking where to watch it so I figure I'd post the youtube links I found for it. It's like 10 different parts so it can fit on youtube and it's a lot spanish-to-english subtitles but it's not bad. It's a fascinating documentary of the rapid rise and fall of the Colombian national team and how greatly it affected the nation. Absolutely worth the watch.
I've been listening to this song for awhile, and think its time I put it on here. Young Lloyd puts some great vocals in, and Banks does his thing. The video was definately modeled after the movie, "Def Jam's How to be a Player".
Here's a fresh new leak from Kanye West. Seems like it wasn't supposed to be leaked hasn't been mastered yet or anything. Let us know what you think. Kanye West - Lost In The World
Aright. I'm a little bitter about my first blog goin to Scam [Sam] Adams but I guess it's appropriate to rep the Boston/seacoast area. This new mixtape of his dropped about a week ago and I must say it's not bad. He took more of a hip-hop/dubstep approach that I feel definitely suits him. It's only the preview but give it a listen.
Right here is a remix of Drizzy's Up all Night, by one of Philly's finest, Meek Mill. This track comes off his Mr. Philadelphia mixtape which dropped in late August. Definately worth a listen.
Haven't posted in a couple of days, but I think dropping this will make up for that. The beat is Yael Naim's song New Soul slowed down, and Wale kills it once again. A head's up, Yo Gotti somehow got J. Cole, Wiz, and Wale all on his remix of "Look in the Mirror". Get excited for when it drops.
"That's why i conflict with the why when and if's, the jigga's and the tip's and the em's and the 50's and i'm the fucking best nevermind if you iffy."
It's sunday, time to recover from the weekend, and I have a real chill song to relax to and get over the hang over. Finally an Owl City remake that I enjoy. This guy Busy Signal gives a reggae take on the song fireflies here. No idea what he's saying but he's got great vocals on this track.
Kanye's newest G.O.O.D. Friday track, So Appalled, features some big names and is near 7 minutes long. But like his earlier G.O.O.D. Friday, Kanye delivers another hot track. Definitely worth downloading.
So it's friday, time to rage, so I thought I'd give you guys a little taste of the new Deadmau5 stuff. If you don't know who Deadmau5 is... I feel sorry for you. He was the DJ that actually played good music during the VMA's a couple weeks ago. And if you still don't know who he is, he's the guy with the mouse head on. This track has nice female vocals in the beginning, transitions into techno then at about 5:02 the dubstep drops. If you don't know what dubstep is, this is a great song to introduce you to the genre. If this song doesn't pump you up.. check your pulse.
This is Dumbfounded coming with his latest track summer love. He's real big on the underground scene in LA and is a well known battle rapper. I also through in a song he released a few weeks ago call Peter Pan Complex for those of you who do not want to grow up at all. Enjoy. Dumbfoundead - Summer Fling
The Saturdays...? Never heard of them, but Flo-Rida does not disappoint once again and believe me...this will be the next big party banger. check it out
New track from Chris Webby. Lovin what this dudes puttin out, his last mixtape The Underclassman was a classic. Big up's to the best rapper in the 203, keep it coming.
It's funny I knew I wanted to post some J. Cole up today regardless if he dropped something new and today he drops The Plan. This guy is the shit he's gonna be around for a long ass time so get used to him. He's easily the best rapper/producer out of all the new big names in the game. Oh and word is this track will be featured on NBA Elite 11.
Introducing Freddie Gibbs, a self-proclaimed underground rapper out of Gary, Indiana. He was signed to Interscope Records in 2005, but refused to give up his "gangsta rap" style so he was let go before an album was released. National Anthem (FTW) is off his first EP "Str8 Killa" released this July. His style is most comparable to that of Tupac, and his southern sound reminds me of Outkast and Bun B.
For my first post I figured I'd give you some Tupac with a little techno flavor to it. I came across this mixtape a couple of weeks ago, and everyone that's heard this song has loved it, so I thought I'd spread the Love.
Just a few days after being busted for hitting the slopes (coke) in Vegas, Bruno drops a new track off his upcoming album Doo-wops and Hooligans. This track features the great Damian Marley and it's extremely hot so check it out.
Ok so as promised here is the mixtape download for Hoodie Allen's new mixtape Pep Rally that dropped today. It's a great upbeat mixtape so give it a listen.
New Weezy track with Drake off his upcoming Mixtape, I Am Not A Human Being, which drops September 27. Despite the crude name these two once again do not fail to deliver. Drake kills it, which is a breath of fresh air from his more recent R&B endeavors. Definately worth a listen.
The Roots Little Ghetto Boy by Fab4music This is the first single off of John Legend and The Roots collaborative album, Wake Up! Which drops tomorrow. This song is fire, the whole album will be great make you sure you go buy the album and support some of hip hop's finest.
Aight so here's a real sick Hoodie Allen track, the beat is great and he kills it at usual. Check back on HuskyHipHop for Hoodie's mixtape droppin tomorrow we'll be sure to post it
So for my Inaugural Post I thought it was appropriate to show love to my current city with the Northern Philly rap group, Ground Up. The track Turn Around is off their latest mixtape Higher Ground. I was introduced to them very recently and loved what I heard. Check em out.
Recently PJ Simas dropped a mixtape full of some great remixes. Just A Dream (Remix) is something you're gonna want to download and save for next weekend...gotta love the Biggie in there, "I let my tape rock til my tape popped"
Here's a little something for your lazy sunday..this Wallflowers (One Headlight) beat is great so kick back and enjoy..hopefully you're not too hungover
Aight so if you haven't heard this then i feel bad for ya cause i've been jammin to this for a while. This is a real dope song and it's really chill. Everyone should check this out and give it a download
Aight so this is a bit of a throwback from Wale's More About Nothing mixtape, but the song is fire and Wale continues to amaze me with his flow and lyricism. He just puts in the work, as I'll be workin to drop hot tracks on a daily basis. If you haven't heard it's a must listen so check it out
